March meeting announcement and call for agenda items

The next meeting for Sherwood Oaks Neighbors is scheduled for Saturday, March 24th at 10 am. The meeting will take place at the Sherwood Oaks Christian Church, room R361. Room information from the church rep “the room is R361. Please enter through Door #3. Go up the stairs (or elevator), turn right, follow the hallway left and the room is about halfway down that hallway to the right. There is a sign at the top of the stairwell and the rooms are marked. There are several other meetings in the same area that day so if folks do bring children, please make sure they stay in the room with you and are not allowed to roam the hallways unattended.” Here is our proposed agenda:

Vote to adopt our Constitution and By-Laws (this is required to be recognized as an official neighborhood association by the city)

Elect Executive Committee Members - it will consist of 5 members. If you are interested in "running" please e-mail me so that I can include your name on the list.

Someone from the city and/or a neighbor will give us the facts about sidewalk repair and the results of canvasing Elliston to discover homeowner opinions on putting in either a sidewalk down to the park or speed bumps in order to make it safer for families going to and fro.

Set a date for a neighborhood-wide garage sale in the Spring?

Present Google Groups- a neighborhood e-mail list. I will be e-mailing “invitiations” to join this group. This will allow us to have interactive discussions and will allow each member to control how many e-mails they receive. Please contact us if you’d like to volunteer to moderate this group. Also, maybe we can we add a neighborhood directory of services on this?

Possibility of developing a Neighborhood Watch program?
